Pheromones are tiny chemicals that are emitted by animals that cause a change in the physiology and behavior of another animal, which are used for mating purposes. Humans have evolved out of using these as the main means of communicative mating rituals, but there is a small organ in the nasal cavity called the VNO (Veneronasal organ) which picks up the minuscule traces of human pheromones.
